John provided us with a detailed design, coordinated the building code certification with a professional engineer, and promptly answered our many questions along the way. John was also responsive to subsequent requests for minor changes and even responded directly to the city on our behalf. We enjoyed working with John to design the plans for our custom home (1850 sqft bungalow). He came highly recommended. He was very knowledgeable and was able to provide guidance and insight that we truly appreciated. He had recommendations/suggestions that were helpful and added features/functions that we would not have had without using him as an Architect. Our house was just completed in March.

Masterplan Design plan could cover their client architectural desire precisely and I do not remember any comments from them later. On the preliminary drawings they provide the best structural system and reasonable size of structural elements.
Masterplan Design is one of best designer who knows structural concepts very well.
As a result after finalizing the size of structural elements by me the original proposed architectural plan will stay almost unchanged.
The other advantage of being a team with Masterplan Design is that the architectural and structural comments from City of Ottawa for building permit application is minor and many time is Zero.
There is a minor waiting time for getting Building Permit.
Also on the construction site the amount of question for unclear items is close to zero.
I have been very happy to work with Masterplan design for time saving from the beginning to end.
We worked with John at Masterplan Design on the design of our forever home in 2021. John was great to work with and reasonably priced. He listened to our wants and constraints and delivered on everything we wanted. He provided great guidance in tweaking the design to meet our needs.
